Kaysville's East Wind Storms I and II

Wind I, a gale terrible and hard,
Wind I, a gale terrible and hard,
Damage was done in most every yard;
Roof shingles, house siding, ripped to shreds,
As some slept fitfully in cold beds;
Trees and fences toppled, trees de-topped.
People pondered, can such winds be stopped?
Wind missiles marred, dented, scratched, and broke.
Some of these deeds were when folks awoke.
Injuries occurred, power lines down,
Severe damage throughout the whole town.
As to cleanup, volunteers rallied,
Saving great costs, yet to be tallied.
“Thousands of bucks” came bids for repair
As claim adjustors rushed here and there.
How was Wind II
Now that it’s through?
Wind II was mild,
A poor step-child.

No, the roofers didn't come this week. A roofer stopped by yesterday and said all the old shingles will have to be removed and the entire roof redone. State Farm said it would be December 23, before they could assess the damage. How can they do it with a foot of snow on the roof? It's supposed to snow this week--and we're responsible for any water damage.
