During the night I wake up.
I don’t hurt anywhere, I realize.
Usually my painful knees wake me up.
I have a cold but I wasn’t coughing.
I didn’t even notice the pounding in my
ears.
As I lie there serenely in the dark
I wonder. .
Did I die?
I take my eye mask off to check.
No.
I’m still here.
This is my room.
DeRay beside me.
I didn’t die.
It was so blissful
I thought for a moment
I may have.
Heavenly.

finally a strange sensation that's a good one.....
it's weird how when you've been in pain when it's gone, it takes a minute to figure out what's going on....
