The Pinochleless Pugh Reunion

A paradox?

If you only knew.

It has to be the first ever

since the beginning of time.

Aunt Senith, Aunt Edna,

Robert, Kelly, Duff.

Sometimes others would be included

if one of them had to go to the bathroom.

All day.

All night.

The next generation inherited

their passion.

Ron, Lynda, Marilyn, Clare, DeRay

often played until 3 in the morning.

Volleyball, races, bingo, hikes, skits, campfires.

Yet,

someone

was always playing Pinochle

until this year.

Duff's kids.  All six of them.

By age:  DeRay 79, Sherrill 77, Marilyn 73, Karen 70, Ron 65, Clare 62. 

 I wanted to see one picture of them not lined up by age.

I also wanted to see DeRay smile but you can't always have everything you want.

Mexican night was a bit of a bust with the torrential rains.

The Round-Up

 

 DeRay, the sourdough hotcake king; Julie & Todd

 Ed & Aunt Mar, 92 years old.

Until she came, I was the oldest woman there.

 Ed stumbled and fell on his knees.  Who is comforting who?

 Mildred, 70, drove Aunt Mar down from Salt Lake City.

Matthew and Dean-he's-so-cute!

 Saturday Potluck

 Clare and DeRay.  Hot biscuits anyone?

 Ed and the Ogden Gang.

 Someone's been eating my porridge.

 Bill & Margo from Aunt Senith's family.

 Lucille, the last of Burt and Mina's children, Skip, and Marilyn.

 Clare bought a trailer this year for $600.

She takes it upon herself to set up a kitchen on the mountain;

fully contained.

Tables, stools, pot and pans, silverware, dishes.

Food Galore.

All of Clare's kids and grandkids came - 15 total.

Karen and Norm had 32 total.

Marilyn 1.

Skip 1.

Ron & Lynda 2.

Lucille, Roxanne, Bruce - 3.

DeRay, Jeanette, Ed & Amy - 4.

Bill, Margo, Alex, Marchelo - 4

Aunt Mar and Mildred - 2.

Total 67.

OK, so it doesn't add up.

That can't be helped. 
(Clare amended it to 64.
Right on!)

In the olden days, around 200.

Only three campers:  Karen & Norm, Us, Bill & Margo.

The rest in condos, cabins, and motels.

 Clare's boys took down all the Easy-Ups; and loaded her thank heavens.

 Marilyn ready to head out.

Marilyn and Clare experienced a nightmare coming up;

 – 4½ hours in 108 + degree temps ½ hour out of Vegas,

they had a flat tire;

called Gary to come and change it.

Forty-five minutes for him to come to the rescue.

Suffering from the extreme heat,

the task was extremely difficult

when the jacks collapsed.

Desperately calling for help,

a tow truck came and with proper equipment,

he had the tire changed in nothing flat!

They went onto to Mesquite where they bought four new tires.

Their ordeal

made the flat tire on the van

that by some miracle

didn’t manifest itself

until we arrived at Duck Creek

seem trivial.

Norm had to change the tire;

DeRay and Amy couldn’t do it.

We took the damaged tire to Big O

when we took Ed to Cedar City

to get medication for a

serious Staph sore on his cheek.

Tire $0.

Medications $0.

Unlike Clare.

 The Sevier River, the river that flows uphill, was even redder than the pictures show.

 Fascinating.

 We can't find Amy's camera since we got home.

Boo-hoo-hoo
She doesn't cry over split milk like I do.
She boldly went out and bought a new camera for $300
and then went grocery shopping with her dad.
