For our Unborn Grandchildren

I borrowed this picture of a sculpture from Facebook.

It was labeled "The Unborn Child."

Yet on Facebook it said for all those who had lost a child.

If a child dies, she is not unborn.

She was born.

To me,

this is for our unborn grandchildren;

(and for my unborn grand nieces and nephews).

I swim laps for them too.

I have seven grandchildren;

yet I swim eight American Crawl laps.

For each lap, I name a child and repeat:

May you be happy,

May you be safe,

May you be healthy,

May you be peaceful.

and one for our unborn grandchildren.
