When the Family Gets Together

When the family finally gets together after a 2-year shirk

Then we learn to know each other, having fun and doing work.

First doing Grandpa’s projects; then a scrumptious Sunday feast;

And it seems all the problems in the world magically have ceased.

 Amanda loves the cats and the cats love Amanda!

 Meanwhile, Brent and Amy are searching for airline tickets to Budapest.

 Naomi has many art projects going.

 Grandpa contracted Jonathan to put in a new garbage disposal and tap.

 Brooke and Amy still searching for airline tickets.

They plan a bike trip through 4 countries.

 He can do it with Grandpa's counsel.

 Good work, Jonathan.

 Well, maybe Grandpa will have to get down afterall.

 Amy took down the family pictures we've had up for nearly 20 years,

replacing them with her art work. Colorful!

 Grandpa can do more than he thought he could do. How do you get up?

 Jan and all the kids love the cats!

 He's working on it. 

 Meanwhile, we snooze while Ed picks something to draw in Pictionary.

 The next project: A swamp cooler for the garage.

 He was hoping to set it on the ground and cut a hole in the door,

but it's a metal door, so they had to build a frame. 

 A two-man job.

 The first time we ran the dishwasher after the new garbage disposal and tap, Amy heard water gushing.  "Oh, did we forget to connect the dishwasher hose?" That's not the end. After they connected that, the dishwasher would start, then say E24. Jan looked it up. They didn't take the plug out of the garbage disposal - the first step. Somehow Jan and Dad got it out when it was installed. P.S. Two weeks later, we noticed the carpet squares int he basement were wet. Where is the water coming from?  Oh, oh, wet under the sink. Brent tightened the hose to the faucet that was leaking. We dried everything out under the sink again, wet vacced the carpet squares and carried them out on the deck to dry; and put a fan to dry the concrete.

 We even got Jan's 10 siblings.

 Amy couldn't rest until Dad made a cat door for Pancake and Gnocchi.

 They definitely are not impressed.

 Where are the mountains? Except for fog, we have never seen the mountains obviated.

 Eerie, don't you think. Brent figured out that it is a dust storm on July 4.

 Sunday Brooke and Elizabeth hosted a family get-together.
