MURDER IN THE FIRST DEGREE

I know it’s a sin.

But I have murder on my mind.

A shot

Right through the heart.

Would that be possible?

Even stabbing.

Or perhaps poison?

Which would be best?

Premeditated Murder, I confess.

I look at the object of my hatred,

Hogging horizontal and vertical space.

Blocking an entire mountain range from my view.

Shading our vegetable garden in summer.

Dropping ugly, soggy, gigantic leaves in autumn.

Yes, I’m seriously contemplating murdering

Our neighbor’s hulking trashy tree.
