The Real Boogie Man

When I was little,
I was afraid of ghosts and bears
and boogie men hiding under my bed.
When I got older
I was afraid of robbers, rapists
and murderers.
All of those have been replaced
by my terror of what Donald Trump
will do and say next.
The fear is real.
Who will knock my door down
and tear my kids away?
What nuclear devise will obliterate us all?
Lies.  Mockery. Treachery.
I’m scared.
