Yesterday DeRay experienced
another one of what we endearingly call our “Fourth Nephite Series”. Like the one where the old mechanic came pushing
his bike up over the hill out of Marysvale and helped Brent and Jan fix their car
when they were stranded on their way home from Missouri.
DeRay had the utility trailer
filled with cement and debris from tearing out the shower so it was difficult
to unload at the dump.
He had just begun to throw it off when this woman showed up. “Can I help you unload your trailer?” “Sure, if you want to.” “I’ll grab my gloves and be right back.” She got up in the trailer and pushed the stuff out with the shovel and then swept it out. He was worried about climbing up into the trailer. He took a pitch fork, flat shovel, rake, and broom and they used them all. He said she wasn’t young; she was at least in her 50’s. He thought maybe she was in the pickup parked next to him but it left. She walked off in the direction where there were no cars and no buildings.

Into the sunset.
Just like the old mechanic
certified in three states.

Hey, I'd like friends like you have!
I love it...especially because I know the first story so well. Keeping track of "tender mercies" is wonderful.
