PROUD GRANDPARENTS

FAIRFIELD JUNIOR HIGH
FIRST FALCON AWARD
#1 Student in the School

Each year the faculty selects a group of top ninth-graders who are top scholars, good citizens, and have participated in a diversity of school activities.
The 2011 First Falcon Nominees are:  Brigitte Hugh, Rachel Koch, Yerko Morales, Sara Munns, TJ Thorley, Zerek Olson.
Brigitte Hugh - Gifted in every academic sense, Brigitte is a student who actively participates in her own education.  She is unfailingly polite and pleasant in class, but teachers can tell that she really wants to learn.  She gives her all to every assignment, and she frequently does more than is required.  She was one of the star pupils of the extracurricular Honors English class, scored the highest on the end of level test in Science, and was an important team leader for the National Academic League.  She also volunteered to serve on the Davis Reads discussion panel at a local library.  One of her teachers said, “I will not be surprised to see Brigitte performing with a philharmonic orchestra, finishing a Ph.D., serving a mission for her church, publishing a book, and translating it into French…all at the same time!  That’s how she did it in ninth grade, and I think she will only get better!  What a remarkable young lady!”
All outstanding.

DRUM ROLL –
And the #1 Falcon is:
BRIGITTE HUGH
She already had a plaque for “Outstanding French Student” and several other awards.
 Pretty impressive, Brigitte.
Even so, she's not too good to get her hands dirty helping Grandpa plant his garden.
