a quote on social media:
"Go
home, walk across the street, and serve your neighbor. What good does it do to
save the world if we neglect the needs of those closest to us, and those whom
we love the most? How much value is there in fixing the world, if the people
around us are falling apart and we don't notice?" (Bonnie
Oscarson, LDS Conference, Oct. 2017)
Coincidentally, about this
same time
A next-door neighbor
was diagnosed with a somber ailment.
Nary a word of reassurance.
Walk around the corner,
pick up the telephone
or e-mail
words of encouragement and
support.
What good does it do us to
save the world
if we neglect the needs of
those
nearest to us?
